Volunteer Opportunities
Visitation- weekly visits to Jewish patients in local hospitals; we will help you get through the hospital's volunteer registration process
- regular one-on-one visits with a home-bound elderly or chronically ill person in the community (typically can even bring along small children)
Meals- pick up prepared meals from local restaurant and deliver to patients/family in the hospital - choose a dedicated day each month or be called when there is a need
- cook meals for the home
Transportation- rides to medical appointments
- coordinate rides to medical appointment for one week every other month
Respite- stay overnight with a child in the hospital
- spend some time entertaining a child in the hospital or during extended clinic visits
- stay overnight with an elderly patient in the hospital
- help with the children at home when parents are in the hospital
Be on call- if you would like Bikur Cholim to call you when various needs arise
Birth Night Volunteers
- be on call one month a year to stay with children in the home when their mother goes to the hospital for labor during the night
Senior Programs (in development)
- to include weekly visits to elderly housing facilities
